OPCRD Access via the Trusted Research Environment (TRE)
In line with the evolving healthcare data landscape in the UK, OPC is moving towards an access model for OPCRD via a Trusted Research Environment (TRE).
A TRE is a secure and controlled platform designed to facilitate the access, analysis, and sharing of sensitive data for research purposes. TREs are implemented to ensure the highest standards of data privacy, security, and compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
In a TRE, only reviewed and approved aggregated and small number suppressed research outputs can be exported via SFTP. This requirement helps prevent re-identification and protect individual privacy, and also ensures compliance with data protection regulations.
OPC provides a ‘standard specification’ of TRE as a minimum for all users which is designed to meet the needs of most researchers and users.
If the standard specification does not meet your requirements, OPC can also build bespoke solutions to meet those needs, costed separately.
